Geely Okavango refresh appears online, global launch soon?
Facelifted Okavango officially shared by Geely Auto Global on social media

The Geely Haoyue, otherwise known as the Okavango, has been one of the brand’s most popular 7-seater MPVs ever since it was launched in 2020. And for the Chinese market, it received a slight refresh back in 2022.
It's been almost two years since that but now, it looks like Geely is ready to offer the updated Okavango to the global market. We paid a visit to Geely Auto Global’s social media pages and saw the updated 7-seater MPV wearing the Okavango name for the first time.

As we’ve seen from the Chinese market Haoyue, the new Okavango is wearing a bigger octagonal shape grille with horizontal chrome stripes paired with a sharper-looking pair of LED headlights. There are also bigger side bezels and a faux front skid plate that gives the 7-seater a more imposing look.

At the back, the Okavango gets a new set of LED taillights that now have a distinct light bar that runs through the width of the tailgate.
Geely also made changes to the Okavango’s interior. They have replaced the infinity motif on the center A/C vents, while there are new screens for both the infotainment and instrument cluster. The tan upholstery that we saw from the Chinese market Haoyue is also likely to be featured on the global market version.

Specifications for the new Okavango are yet to be revealed by Geely Auto Global. But for the Chinese market update, the Haoyue got a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo with 218 PS and 325 Nm of torque that’s paired to a wet-type 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. If Geely PH offers this 2.0-liter version, expect a significant price bump as excise taxes are much higher for engine displacements bigger than 1.5 liters.
In the Philippine market, the Okavango is already ripe for a nip and tuck since it’s already been around for several years. Let’s hope Geely PH offers this sooner rather than later.
