Geely EX5 appears on DOE's list of recognized EVs, PH launch soon?
PH-spec Geely EX5 will have 218 PS, a 60.22 kWh battery pack, and a Type 2 CCS charging port

It might not be long before Geely officially launches its newest compact crossover EV in the Philippines. Aside from spotting the Geome Panda Knight EV on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of recognized EVs, another Geely vehicle has been listed as well.
This time it’s the EX5 which we recently got to test in the PRC last month. Set to take on the likes of the BYD Atto 3, the Geely EX5 for the Philippine market gets the same electric drivetrain as the one sold in the People’s Republic.
Based on the DOE’s listing, the Geely EX5 comes with a 60.22 kWh battery pack which powers a single electric motor that makes 160 kW or 218 PS. Torque output was not mentioned although we won’t be surprised if it’s at 320 Nm - just like in China. Recharging the EX5 can be done via a Type 2 CCS port that supports both AC and DC fast charging.
Size-wise, the Geely EX5 measures 4615mm long, 1901mm wide, and 1670mm tall. Its wheelbase wasn’t mentioned but over in the PRC, it comes in at 2750mm. On a full charge, Geely says the EX5 can travel over 400 km on a single charge.
Other details regarding the Geely EX5 are not yet available. However, since it has already been confirmed that the EV will soon make its way here, perhaps we are mere months away from its official launch in the country. Heck, we won’t be surprised if it will happen in Q1 of 2025. In the meantime, those who are curious about how it performs can check out our first drive of the EX5 here.
