GAC PH to launch EMPOW 55, all-new GS8 next year
GAC Motor to greet the New Year with all-new GS8, EMPOW 55

Earlier today, Astara Philippines officially confirmed that GAC Motor is part of its growing automotive portfolio. With that, not only is the Spanish-based company handling Peugeot, but they now also have GAC under its wing.
Aside from planning to open six new locations in key cities in the country, Astara also announced they will be launching not one, but two vehicles next year. Come January 10, 2023, GAC Motor will be revealing the EMPOW 55 and the all-new GS8 flagship.

First previewed during the 2022 Manila International Auto Show, the EMPOW 55 will serve as the brand's premier sports sedan that could take on the likes of the Honda Civic. Meanwhile, the all-new GS8 flagship comes with all the bells and whistles, an imposing exterior, and a well-appointed cabin.
Official specs and details regarding the EMPOW 55 and GS8 are not yet available. But a quick look at what we saw at MIAS 2022 (and what other markets get) have given us a good idea of what to expect.
The sports sedan is available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 177 PS with 270 Nm of torque and is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It's also fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, quad exhaust pipes, and slim LED headlights/taillights.

As for the GS8, the flagship model is available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 251 PS with 400 Nm of torque and is married to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It also comes with a BorgWarner all-wheel drive system. Other features present on the GS8 include massive 20-inch alloy wheels, a huge front grille, stylish front/rear bumpers, as well as distinct LED headlights and taillights.
With GAC Motor looking to kick off 2023 with a bang, the EMPOW 55 and GS8 will surely make an impression to start of the New Year.
