Ford Everest, Ranger to get V6 turbodiesel power in PH?
3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel for Ford Everest, Ranger could soon find its way to PH

Ford is enjoying a strong presence in the Philippine market, and part of the reason is that two of their best-selling models belong to two of the most popular vehicle segments in the country – the midsize SUV and pickup truck class with the Everest and Ranger.
It’s been more than three years since the next-generation Everest and Ranger made their way to the Philippines. This time, Ford Philippines could be gearing up to offer a more powerful diesel engine as part of its update.
The manufacturer has received regulatory approval for a diesel-powered light-duty vehicle (pickup truck) and a passenger vehicle with an engine displacement of 2993cc – the equivalent of a 3.0-liter engine.

After a quick search online, the 2993cc (3.0-liter) Ford diesel engine refers to the 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel – an engine that’s already found under the hood of top-tier models of the Ford Ranger and Everest in other markets, particularly in Australia.
The setup delivers a beefy 250 PS and 600 Nm of torque, which is a big step up compared to the existing 2.0-liter Biturbo diesel of both the Ranger Raptor and the current top-spec models of the Everest and Ranger in the country. But like the 2.0-liter Biturbo, it is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Last year, Ford Australia announced it would no longer offer the Biturbo version of the 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel in its lineup as the engine is effectively being phased out of production. When stocks eventually run out, Ford Philippines could be following soon with this latest development. After all, Ford Australia also sources out its Everest and Ranger units from Thailand, same as the Philippines.
