First PH Overland Expo kicks off this October
5-day 4x4 adventure in one of the Philippines' toughest trails

The Philippines, being an archipelago, has been blessed with beautiful mountains, dense forests, white water rivers, and many more. With the abundance of such beautiful places and fine weather, the country is perhaps one of the best go-to places in the world when it comes to overlanding.

This October, at least 30 teams and 300 4x4 rigs will be attempting to conquer one of the most uncharted paths along the Pacific coastline in General Nakar, Quezon for the 1st Petron Philippine Overland Expedition.
“The Philippines has the perfect terrain and topography for overlanding,” says Tim Tuazon, CEO of Mototesto, the country’s premier go-to shop for overlanding/4x4 needs.
The expedition, which will take place between October 12 to 16, 2022, will flag off at LausGroup Event Center in San Fernando, Pampanga. The teams will try to garner points based on the completion of quests across the whole route which will include muddy, sandy, rocky terrain, and more than a dozen river crossings.

Petron, the country’s largest fuel retailer, sees this as a great opportunity to showcase its products, which are specially formulated to meet the demands of the off-roading community. “With Petron Rev-X HTP, Petron Turbo Diesel, and Petron Diesel Max, the overlanders can ensure the peak performance of their vehicles so they can enjoy this adventure to the full,” said Petron in a statement.
Are you up to the challenge?
Gather your friends and form a 6-man team composed of three 4x4 rigs. Part of the requirement is that each vehicle must be a production variant that retains at least 80% of its original body and chassis structure. The rigs must also have full recovery and river crossing capabilities – meaning that the vehicles must be fully equipped with winches and snorkels.

Each team must be also self-reliant and must have provisions for food, water, recovery tools, and spare parts to last them the whole adventure. This expedition will test each team’s endurance, resilience, camaraderie, off-road driving, and survival skills.
Camping option
If you find the expedition too extreme for your skills, you can still bring your family and rig and join the 6th Philippine Overland Expo where fans like you can gather and engage in a 4-day camping activity at the campsite where the event will conclude.

Former senator and DILG secretary, Mar Roxas, who is the event chairman, has said that they want adventure seekers to go out and enjoy the beauty the country has to offer and one of the best ways to do it is through overlanding.
Part of the 1st Petron Philippine Overland Expedition's CSR initiative is to donate a part of the proceeds, which can potentially reach PHP 1,000,000.00, to the different communities within General Nakar.
