First images of 2022 Volkswagen Lavida revealed
Volkswagen gives the Lavida sedan a makeover, inside and out

Crossovers and SUVs may be all the rave today, but brands like Volkswagen still believe there’s still a market for sedans. To prove that, the automaker recently revealed the first images of the 2022 Lavida.
Updated inside and out, the refreshed Lavida comes with more tech, along with a sleeker exterior design. Compared to the current model, the 2022 Lavida is equipped with a wider front grille, revised LED headlights, and a sportier front bumper. The LED taillights were also updated with new graphics and are bigger than before. Last is the restyled rear bumper that now comes with chrome trim and reflectors.

While the exterior of the Lavida only received a minor update, the cabin is another story. Step inside, and there’s a new digital instrument panel, an updated three-spoke steering wheel, and restyled aircon vents. Higher-trim models will even come with red contrast stitching and accents that provide a sportier-looking cabin.
Perhaps the most obvious change is the center console and dashboard. There’s a new “floating” touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital automatic climate control panel, and thinner aircon vents on the center. Other available features on the 2022 Lavida include leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting, as well as a sunroof.

Volkswagen did not reveal any powertrain details. But given the 280 TSI badge at the back, the 2022 Lavida is likely powered by an improved 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four. In other models, the engine makes 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 2022 Volkswagen Lavida is expected to make its public debut at the 2022 Beijing Auto Show in April. Given that the Lavida we currently have first arrived in 2018, it’s already due for an update. Hopefully, Volkswagen Philippines decides to bring it here in the future.
