Electric LFA: Lexus gives a better look at BEV Sport concept
The Lexus BEV Sport concept is one vehicle we will be looking out for

The future of Lexus is very exciting. Toyota president Akio Toyoda announced last year that the luxury marque will only sell electric vehicles by 2035. To preview its upcoming lineup of EVs, he also introduced several concepts as part of the Lexus Electrified collective vision. These EV concepts include a sedan, an SUV, and a sports car.

Out of all the vehicles revealed, the model that stood out is called the Lexus BEV Sport concept. It’s set to become the brand’s future halo model and could be a successor to the legendary LFA. At the time the model was revealed, there were only a handful of photos of the low-slung EV sports car. But now, Lexus has given us a better look at their future sports EV.

The side profile is possibly the best angle of the Lexus BEV Sport. It reminds us even more of the LFA mixed with styling cues from the Toyota FT-1 concept and the Lexus LC500. At the front, it looks unlike any Lexus model today, and it is also designed differently from the other concepts. The same can be said with the concept’s rear end. Overall, it does look good, and we can’t wait to see what the production model will look like.

Aside from the new images, Lexus did not disclose new technical details about the BEV Sport concept. We do know that it will inherit the driving performance of the LFA, minus the Yamaha-built V10 engine. The automaker adds that it will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in the low 2-second range and have over 700 km of range. Solid-state batteries will also be used instead of lithium-ion to optimize performance.

What do you think of the Lexus BEV Sport concept so far? Do you think it has what it takes to live up to the LFA’s reputation? Let us know what you think in the comments.
