DOTr to elevate PH transport industry to global standards
New DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista to focus on roads, airports, seaports, and railways

As the administration of new President Bongbong Marcos takes over, new Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista vows to concentrate on the “accessible, affordable, comfortable, and safe” movement of passengers and goods across the archipelago.
“As discussed during my initial meeting with President Bongbong, we will transform the Philippine transport industry and elevate it to global standards. We should focus our efforts on moving passengers and goods that use our roads, airports, seaports, and railways,” said Bautista.
The former Philippine Airlines (PAL) president and COO also promised to continue the momentum of the previous administration’s Build, Build, Build Program.

“I would like to assure Secretary Art [Tugade] that we will seriously consider continuing the various programs implemented under [former] President Duterte’s Build, Build, Build Initiative. We do not need to reinvent the wheel. These big-ticket projects truly deserve continuity to strike the maximum benefits for the Filipino people,” added Secretary Bautista.
Secretary Bautista assured the DOTr’s officials and staff that his office is open to suggestions and that he will listen to advise as the agency prepares to tackle daunting issues facing the transportation sector.
Using his experience in the private sector, Secretary Bautista promises to solve the insurmountable transport concerns of Filipinos and overcome all contentious problems ahead.
