DOTr Sec Bautista names Exec Director Vera Cruz as new LTO OIC
Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz to serve as LTO's officer-in-charge

There's a new head honcho in the Land Transportation Office (LTO), at least for this month.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista has issued Special Order No. 2022-130 dated July 1, appointing Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz as the new officer-in-charge of the LTO.
Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz is replacing outgoing LTO Asec. Edgar Galvante who was appointed to the position back in 2016. Atty. Vera Cruz will serve as the acting LTO chief until July 31, 2022, or until a replacement has been appointed or designated by the newly-elected President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
According to the DOTr, Atty. Vera Cruz's designation is pursuant to the Office of the President's Memorandum Circular No. 1, declaring the rest of the vacant government positions to be filled in by the next-in-rank and most senior officials as the officers-in-charge.
With this recent appointment, the LTO elected an officer-in-charge that's within their ranks and is expected to bode well in terms of continuing the various programs started by the outgoing LTO chief.
