DOTr reassigns LTO-NCR bosses over Discaya vehicle registration issue
Questionable registration of Discaya luxury vehicles

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered the reassignment of the top officials of the Land Transportation Office–National Capital Region (LTO–NCR). According to the agency, Regional Director Roque Verzosa III and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Dennis Barrion was moved from their posts to allow an unimpeded investigation into the questionable registration of the luxury vehicles linked to Curlee and Sarah Discaya.
LTO Assistant Secretary, Markus Lacanilao, for the time being, will hold the position of LTO-NCR Regional Director.
“In the exigency of service, and in view of the ongoing investigation and audit being undertaken in relation to the Bugatti case, Discaya vehicles, and other related matters, the following key officials of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) are hereby designated and reassigned to the positions opposite their names, effective immediately.”

PHP 38.2 million generated so far
The seized Discaya luxury vehicles were recently put on the auction block by the Bureau of Customs (BOC), with expectations of generating at least PHP 1 billion for the government. However, with only three units successfully sold so far, the revenue fell far short of projections.
The vehicles that did find buyers were the two G-Wagens and a Lincoln Navigator, earning PHP 15,611,710 for the AMG, PHP 15,500,000 for the Brabus, and PHP 7,100,000 for the Navigator, for a total of PHP 38,211,710 added to government coffers.
