D90 7-seater: The next SUV from MG Philippines?
According to insider information, the D90 is coming to PH real soon

MG has been on a roll for the past several years despite being one of the newest brands in the country. With popular crossovers such as the MG ZS, MG HS, and the MG ZS T under their belts, they have carved themselves a pretty huge piece of the automotive pie.
But what MG really needs in order to pick up sales is a big SUV, something that could take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and Isuzu mu-X. Luckily, they already have such a vehicle in the form of the MG Gloster. Also called the MG D90 (not to be confused with the Maxus D90 from which the MG is derived), it's a three-row SUV that's based on the Extender pickup truck.
So we already know that MG has one in their lineup, but will it actually be available in the Philippines? According to some info we received, that's what they're planning and preparing to import next.

While we have no official specs yet, we already know that it will have a turbo-diesel engine under the hood along with 4WD capability. In addition, it will measure 5005mm long, 1932mm wide, and 1875mm tall. Last but not least, it will be a 7-seater SUV.
Power figures for the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel under the hood are not yet available. But after a quick look at international markets, it could produce 218 PS and 480 Nm of torque thanks to a twin-turbo setup. We managed to come to this conclusion since the 4WD version is the only one to come with the twin-turbo diesel setup. The single-turbo version is only available in 2WD and just produces 163 PS and 375 Nm of torque. As far as transmissions are concerned, the D90 could be equipped with an 8-speed automatic.
With MG Philippines seemingly preparing to enter the 7-seater midsize SUV market, the MG D90 could be their ticket to give other brands a run for their money. The only question now is, when will MG actually launch it in the Philippines?
