Confirmed: Toyota to reveal 2023 Sequoia on January 25

Two days ago, Toyota released the first teaser image of the all-new Sequoia. Based on the next-generation full-size Tundra pick-up truck, the 2023 Sequoia will replace the second-generation model which has been on sale since 2007.

At the time of its release, Toyota only showed a portion of the vehicle’s redesigned rear quarter panels. It now gets L-shaped horizontal LED taillights, an upward kink on the rear windows, as well as additional creases on the rear doors.

Today, Toyota has announced that the 2023 Sequoia will be making its world debut on January 25. In addition, the company has also launched a dedicated website that will reveal more details and teaser images in the coming days.

Based on the latest photo Toyota revealed, we managed to get a new look at the SUV’s new tailgate and LED taillights. Instead of having the ‘Sequoia’ name spelled out on the door handle, Toyota has now placed it near the bottom of the tailgate itself. Meanwhile, the tailgate handle itself is now slimmer. Also, the LED taillights appeared to have been slimmed down too, giving the SUV a sleeker look.

Toyota has yet to show the Sequoia’s new front end. However, we won’t be surprised to see if it will look similar to the Tundra’s design. For reference, the 2023 Tundra gets a massive front grille, eye-catching LED headlights, and muscular wheel arches.

Under the hood, we can expect the next-gen Sequoia to come with a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 derived from the Tundra. With that, it could be available in two versions, a non-hybrid that makes 389 PS and 649 Nm of torque, as well as a hybrid variant that puts out 437 PS with 790 Nm of torque. The transmission option will most likely be a ten-speed automatic.

With the launch just a few days away, expect Toyota to reveal more specs and details of its latest full-size SUV.
