Confirmed: Nissan to showcase e-Power at MIAS 2022
MIAS 2022 will see Nissan reveal exciting new models and e-Power tech

A few weeks ago, we received word that Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI) was apparently planning to launch e-Power in the country. They did not say what will be their first e-Power model, but according to a well-placed source, it will not be the Note.
Fast forward to April, and Nissan has officially announced that they will be showcasing exciting new models and technologies at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Among those that will be showcased is the brand's latest electrification strategy, e-Power.
That's right, Nissan has confirmed that they will be showing the public how e-Power hybrid works. Unlike conventional parallel hybrid systems, Nissan's e-Power makes use of a gasoline-powered engine that serves as a generator for the inverter and electric motors. This negates the use of an external plug-in charging system. The engine then runs at an optimal speed to charge the battery when needed. Since it doesn't have to power the vehicle itself, it's more fuel-efficient and makes for fewer trips to the pumps.

Nissan did not say what model of the e-Power they will be showing at MIAS next week. However, it will most likely be the Kicks e-Power which is currently being sold in Thailand. Assuming Nissan does launch it in the Philippines, it could serve as a rival to the Toyota Corolla Cross as the brand's B-segment crossover hybrid.
Aside from e-Power, Nissan will also be displaying the limited-edition Calibre-X, a new 4x2 variant of the Navara, made perfect for versatile city driving. The Calibre-X will also feature a bolder exterior and will be packed with Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) features.
Speaking of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, MIAS will also serve as the company's 5th leg of the NIM Tour. Here, the automaker will give customers the opportunity to test the safety features in a wide range of Nissan vehicles.
The 2022 MIAS will be held on April 7 – 10 at the World Trade Center in Pasay from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
