Chrysler will only sell EVs by 2028
Chrysler is committed to selling only zero-emissions vehicles six years from now

Yesterday, Chrysler revealed the Airflow Concept which previews the brand’s electric future. While the concept appears to be a one-off, the luxury automaker did say that by 2025, they will be unveiling their first-ever electric vehicle (EV) to the market.
Having said that, the Airflow Concept could become the basis of Chrysler’s first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) that’s due to be revealed three years from now. But that doesn’t mean Chrysler will only be developing just one EV.
By 2028, Chrysler will only be selling EVs. You read right, the brand that is known for the Pacifica minivan, and the 300 sedan will shift from selling cars with internal combustion engines and hybrids to only offering zero-emissions vehicles.

The shift to selling only EVs comes after parent company Stellantis (FCA-PSA merger) revealed its plans to offer cleaner vehicles in the near future. Muscle car brand Dodge, who is also part of the Stellantis Group, will reportedly ax the Challenger and Charger by 2024 to make the push towards EVs.
“The Chrysler Airflow Concept represents the future direction of the Chrysler brand, providing a peek at the dynamic design, advanced technologies, and seamless connectivity that will characterize the full-electric portfolio we plan to reach by 2028. Chrysler is an iconic American automotive brand, with a heritage in creating new advanced technologies and product segments. Our brand will serve at the forefront as Stellantis transforms to deliver clean mobility and connected customer experiences,” said Chris Feuell, CEO of Chrysler.
Currently, Chrysler only offers two vehicles, the Pacifica minivan, and the 300 luxury sedan. The Pacifica is the only model that’s available with a hybrid powertrain - a 3.6-liter V6 that’s paired with two electric motors. The result is a total system output of 263 PS and 320 Nm of torque. But since they only have one electrified model, Chrysler’s plan to shift from hybrids to full electric could help Chrysler develop and sell more vehicles.

There is no word yet if the 300 and Pacifica minivans will switch from ICEs to electric motors. What we can expect, however, is the introduction of new dedicated electric models that will be part of Chrysler’s lineup by 2028. Moreover, the switch to electric also signifies the brand’s commitment to using clean manufacturing processes, as well as making use of recyclable and renewable materials.
