Chevrolet rolls out all-new Corvette Grand Sport, Grand Sport X with new 6.7L V8
Chevrolet revives the Grand Sport model for 2027 with a more powerful Grand Sport X

With a rich legacy of performance and race-winning pedigree, Chevrolet is reviving one of its most legendary nameplates.
The 2027 Corvette Grand Sport returns, joined by a bold new electrified counterpart, the Corvette Grand Sport X, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation. Both models blend heritage styling with modern performance, headlined by a new-generation naturally aspirated V8.

At the core of the Grand Sport lineup is the all-new 6.7-liter LS6 V8, now the brand’s primary engine. Producing 535 PS and 705 Nm of torque, it delivers more twist than any previous naturally aspirated Corvette V8, while introducing updated internals and improved durability. The LS6 will also power the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Staying true to its roots, dating back to the 1960s race cars, the Grand Sport continues to serve as the sweet spot in the Corvette range, offering track-inspired performance with everyday usability. Standard features include Magnetic Ride Control, rear-wheel drive, and available performance packages that add uprated suspension, brakes, and track-focused Michelin tires.

For those seeking more performance, the Grand Sport X introduces electrification and all-wheel drive. It pairs the LS6 V8 with a front-mounted electric motor, producing a combined 721 PS. The setup enables eAWD capability, improved traction, and multiple drive strategies, including endurance, qualifying, and push-to-pass modes. It also offers limited electric-only driving for low-speed situations.

Design-wise, both models carry signature Grand Sport cues such as heritage colors, stripes, and iconic hash marks, now repositioned to reflect the Corvette’s mid-engine layout. New options include fresh wheel designs, carbon-fiber components, and a curated Launch Edition interior.

Production of the 2027 Corvette lineup is set to begin at GM’s Bowling Green plant, reinforcing the Grand Sport’s return as a high-volume, performance-focused model in the range.
