Chevrolet PH recalls select Tahoe, Suburban units over airbag issue

A few years ago, the automotive industry was rocked by the global airbag recall caused by Takata. It resulted in automakers issuing recalls on millions of vehicles worldwide. From Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Fiat-Chrysler, and even Ferrari, these brands had to replace countless faulty airbag inflators that could prove fatal if they were deployed.

While the Takata issue has subsided over the years, its effects are still being felt by several automakers. Just recently, Chevrolet distributor The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI) submitted a recall notice to the Department of Trade & Industry involving several units of their popular SUVs.

Based on TCCCI's Preventive Safety Recall Campaign at the DTI website, a total of 435 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe models from 2007 to 2012 need to have their Takata passenger airbag inflator replaced.

TCCCI has already informed affected customers and the public regarding the said recall in order to replace the faulty component as soon as possible. More importantly, the company has mobilized its dealerships to inspect and repair all affected vehicles.

If you're one of the owners of the affected Suburban and Tahoe vehicles, now's a good time to check with your nearest dealership and see if you need the airbag inflator replaced.
