CAVITEX to implement counterflow scheme starting Sept. 15
This is to give way for the girder launching of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 project

CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) has announced that they will be implementing a counterflow scheme near the Parañaque toll plaza for the girder launching activity of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) C5 Link Segment 2 R1 Interchange project.
CIC is the concessionaire of CAVITEX.

Girder launching activity will be similar to the Segment 3A1 in 2018
The counterflow scheme will begin on September 15 to September 19, 2023, for the Manila-bound traffic. On the other hand, the counterflow scheme will begin on September 19 to September 25, 2023, for the Cavite-bound traffic. The activity will take place between 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily from September 15 to 25.
CIC President and General Manager, Raul Ignacio, emphasized, “CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 once completed by the first quarter of 2024 will help cut travel time to Sucat Road from CAVITEX (Coastal Road) and vice versa by 10 minutes, making daily commutes more efficient and seamless for our motorist.”

The R-1 Interchange is a vital 1.9-kilometer segment (Segment 2) of the CAVITEX C5 Link project which will then connect the 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX to C5 Road in Taguig. Once CAVITEX C5 Link is fully completed, it is anticipated to serve over 50,000 vehicles per day, significantly reducing travel times to and from Makati and Taguig from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite Province, ultimately easing traffic congestion within Metro Manila.
