BYD eMAX 9 PHEV can do more than 1,260 km on one tank, full battery
The BYD eMAX 9 DM-i can (literally) go the distance

Yesterday, BYD Cars Philippines officially launched its newest plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the eMAX 9 DM-i. It’s a three-row MPV that has captain seats on the second row, the ability to travel on electric power up to 170 km, and comes with plenty of amenities and in-car features. Combined with a comfy ride and a powerful powertrain, the eMAX 9 DM-i has put the likes of the Toyota Alphard and GAC M8 on notice.
But just how far can the eMAX 9 go the distance on one full tank and a fully charged battery? According to BYD, the top-of-the-line Premium variant can go beyond 1,000 km, which is already an impressive feat. Well, BYD Cars Philippines believes it can go more than that, and then some.
Just like the other long-distance tests the automaker has held, BYD Cars Philippines has sought the help of veteran race car driver Louis Ramirez to take the eMAX 9 DM-i on an efficiency run. The test was supervised by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), which started from BYD Manila Bay in Pasay City, passed through Tuguegarao, Cagayan, and reached Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. The convoy then made its way to La Union before finally heading back to Pasay City.

After all was said and done, the BYD eMAX 9 DM-i was able to travel a total distance of 1,261.2 km on a full tank and on a single charge. This means the eMAX 9 DM-i can go beyond the factory 1,000 km mileage that BYD claimed.
“The BYD eMAX 9 DM-i redefines what luxurious electric mobility means for Filipino families. It embodies our mission to make world-class electric mobility accessible to Filipinos who aspire to drive beyond the ordinary,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD Philippines.
The BYD eMAX 9 DM-i is now available at a starting price of PHP 2.678 million.
