BYD Cars PH to launch 2025 Seal 05 DM-i
BYD to greet the holidays with the all-new 2025 Seal 05 DM-i

BYD Cars Philippines continues to disrupt the electrified car market after it confirmed it will launch yet another new model. After releasing the Sealion 6, Seagull, and Seal in quick succession for the Philippine market, ACMobility announced it will launch the 2025 Seal 05 plug-in hybrid electric sedan.
Also called the BYD King or Destroyer 05 in other markets, the Seal 05 comes with the brand’s DM-i hybrid system. The automaker has not shared any official specifications yet. However, a quick look at what other markets get has given us an idea of what to expect.

For starters, the powertrain consists of a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that’s assisted by an electric motor (dual motors on higher-spec versions) along with an 18.25 kWh battery pack. The engine alone makes a decent 110 PS but thanks to the electric motor, the vehicle can produce between 179 PS and 197 PS, depending on the powertrain spec.
On battery power alone, the vehicle can cover up to 120 km without using a drop of fuel. In PHEV mode, however, with a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery, BYD claims the Seal 05 can cover up to 1,200 km of range. Recharging the battery can be done via a Type 2 CCS port that supports 3.3 kW with an onboard charger or up to 25 kW via a DC fast charger.
Size-wise, the Seal 05 measures 4780mm long, 1837mm wide, 1495mm tall, and has a 2718mm wheelbase. Other notable exterior features available include 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a power sunroof, and LED headlights and taillights.

Hop inside and we can expect the Seal 05 to come with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel and the brand’s signature rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other amenities like a leather interior, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, LED ambient lighting, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, satellite navigation, intelligent voice control, and a host of smart driver aids will be likely offered in the Seal 05.
With the launch of the BYD Seal 05 set for next week, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for any new info about the upcoming plug-in hybrid sedan.
