BYD Atto 3 officially makes its presence felt in PH

Ayala Corporation’s AC Motors is making strides to offer more EVs in the Philippine market. After announcing what’s in store at the 2023 Philippine EV Summit a few days ago, the automaker has officially previewed the Atto 3 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Set to serve as the brand’s premier electric crossover SUV offering, the Atto 3 combines stylish looks, zero emissions mobility, and a wide array of standard amenities. Present during the preview of the Atto 3 included AC Motors Head Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and BYD CEO Toti Zara.

No exact specifications were revealed during its preview. However, according to Zara, the Atto 3 for PH will generate over 200 PS and more than 300 Nm of torque. In addition, it will be able to travel up to 480 km which means the PH-spec Atto 3 will likely come with the 63.8 kWH battery pack. More importantly, it will come with CCS2 (AKA Type II) charging. Size-wise, BYD the Atto 3 measures 4455mm long, 1875mm wide, 1615mm tall, and has a 2720mm wheelbase.
When it comes to recharging the EV, the Atto 3 for PH could come with a 7kW Type 2 AC charger that can fully recharge the crossover in around 8 to 8.5 hours. AC Motors currently has no plans to offer DC charging for the Atto 3.

When it comes to features, the Atto 3 may be fitted with the following; 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 5-inch digital cluster, an 8-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, smart keyless entry, and even remote start.

Those interested in seeing the 2024 BYD Atto 3 can visit the 2023 Philippine EV Summit until Oct 21, 2023. AC Motors will launch the BYD Atto 3 sometime in November although no exact pricing has been revealed yet.
