BYD Atto 2 wants to fight MG ZS EV but will PH get it?
The Atto 2 makes 177 PS and has a range of over 310 km on a full charge

BYD continues to expand its lineup of electric vehicles (EVs). While they already have the likes of the Atto 3 competing in the compact crossover segment, they have yet to have a zero-emissions subcompact (B-SUV) crossover...until now.
Say hello to the 2025 BYD Atto 2, and it's gunning for the likes of the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Suzuki e Vitara. Recently revealed for the European market, the Atto 2 combines hatchback dimensions with the practicality of a crossover SUV. It slots below the Atto 3 and features similar styling cues in a smaller vehicle.

Beginning with its design, the Atto 2 gets sleek LED headlights and a sleek front bumper that appears to seamlessly connect with the front fenders. High-grade models come with large alloy wheels and are complemented by black body cladding that gives the Atto 2 a more rugged appearance. It also gets sleek and stylish LED taillights that feature a unique LED design that stands out, especially at night.
Hop inside and the Atto 2 welcomes you into an ergonomic yet chic cabin. Despite being a B-SUV, the BYD Atto 2 comes with LED ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and of course, the brand's signature rotating touchscreen infotainment system. High-grade variants come with leather upholstery along with a stylish center console. The automaker has yet to reveal the Atto 2's full equipment list.

For its launch in Europe, the Atto 2 is available with just one powertrain. It gets a 45 kWh battery pack that powers a 130 kW (or 177 PS) electric motor that drives the front wheels. BYD claims the Atto 2 has a range of 312 km based on the WLTP cycle which is more than enough for a vehicle of its size. However, we won't be surprised if it gets a bigger battery pack which could go on sale for slightly more money.
With the Atto 2 set to be available in Europe, BYD could also offer it to other markets like Southeast Asia. Since the B-SUV market continues to grow and become more competitive, interested EV buyers may want to buy an affordable EV that's smaller than the Atto 3.

Do you think the BYD Atto 2 will eventually make its way here? Let us know in the comments.
