BYD Atto 2 appears on DOE's list of recognized EVs
PH-spec BYD Atto 2 will reportedly be offered in Dynamic and Premium variants

For the past several days, we've seen a couple of yet-to-be-launched BYD vehicles on the Department of Energy's (DOE) list of recognized plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). These include the BYD eMAX 9 DM-i and the BYD Tang DM-i, both of which are expected to make their Philippine debut soon.
But if you thought those were the only vehicles BYD Cars Philippines has in store, we recently spotted another upcoming vehicle. Based on our recent findings, the Atto 2 electric crossover has already been recognized by the DOE as an EV. That's right, after getting clearance from the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the BYD Atto 2 has been cleared by the DOE.

Like what we saw from the LTO, the upcoming electric B-SUV from BYD will be available in two distinct variants, Dynamic and Premium. The DOE has listed the Atto 2 Dynamic with a 32 kWh battery pack, while the Atto 2 Premium will get a bigger 45.12 kWh battery. Power output of the Atto 2 Dynamic is rated at 70 kW or 95 PS with 180 Nm of torque, while the Atto 2 Premium gets a bump in power with 130 kW or 177 PS and 290 Nm of torque.
As far as range is concerned, the Atto 2 Dynamic is billed to have a range of up to 280 km based on the NEDC cycle. On the other hand, the Atto 2 Premium is rated to cover up to 380 km according to the NED cycle. Both variants support up to 7kW of AC charging, but the Premium comes with 65kW of DC fast charging (Dynamic only gets up to 45kW of fast DC charging).

In terms of size, the BYD Atto 2 will measure 4310mm long, 1830mm wide, and 1675mm tall. It will also have a 2620mm wheelbase and 150mm of ground clearance.
With both the DOE and LTO clearing the BYD Atto 2, it might not be long before BYD Cars Philippines distributor ACMobility decides to reveal them at a later date. The only question now is, how competitively priced will the Atto 2 be once launched?
