BMW ConnectedDrive is the Netflix of in-car features
BMW customers can now purchase or unlock more features of their car via their ConnectedDrive online portal

How does in-car high-resolution Netflix with heated seats sound while on the road? Earlier, we reported on Volkswagen offering more features via subscription-based services. This time we have BMW getting into the model more.

BMW South Korea via their ConnectedDrive online has opened the ability to buy more functions. Heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and access to in-built dash cams are now available to the customers who are willing to subscribe.

The BMW ConnectedDrive store is a portal where BMW owners can acquire technology for their cars or SUV. Here, the customer can choose and pick what features to pick and how long they wanna pay for it. The customer will also be asked to make a profile and enter a mode of payment for the purchases.

Based on the website, Apple CarPlay Preparation can be purchased for KRW 399,000 or PHP 17,128. A driver’s assistant can also be bought for KRW 51,000 Won or PHP 2,189. Numerous other features are also available on the website with a choice of a test phase of 3 months. Available tiers for services are unlimited, one month, one year, and three years.

Perhaps one of the oddest features available at the BMW ConnectedDrive store is IconicSounds Sport. It essentially delivers fake engine noises offered to the customer.
With automakers like BMW, Stellantis, and even Volkswagen starting to offer subscription-based services, we won't be surprised if more car companies will start offering these to their customers.
With the advancement of in-car Wifi and internet speeds, chances are the next wave will be done over the air or via that USB-C port in the infotainment section.
If you could get more features by just paying a subscription, would you mind paying it per month or annually?
