BIMS 2023: All-new Ford Everest Wildtrak arrives in ASEAN

Remember when Ford unleashed what could be perhaps their most capable version of the all-new Everest? Well, after making its global debut in New Zealand, it has now arrived in The Land of Smiles.

Making its regional debut at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show is the Ford Everest Wildtrak, and boy does it look like a proper go-anywhere SUV.

While it may look just like any Everest on the road, the Wildtrak version comes with some neat add-ons unique only to this particular variant. For starters, it gets a Wildtrak-specific grille and front bumper, side steps with steel inserts, alloy-style roof rails, and 20-inch alloy wheels with the Bolder Gray accents.

Speaking of accents, the same Bolder Gray finishes can also be seen throughout the rest of the vehicle which adds to its more rugged nature. In case you forget what Everest you’re in, Ford generously put the variant’s logo on the front doors, hood, and tailgate for good measure. Last but not least, the Everest Wildtrak is finished in the distinct Luxe Yellow paint job.

Hop inside and the Everest Wildtrak is upholstered in exclusive Ebony leather and Miko suede seats complete with Cyber Orange stitching. The front seats, on the other hand, come with 8-way power adjustability, as well as heating and cooling functions.

When it comes to amenities, it gets a 12.4-inch digital cluster along with a 12-inch tablet-inspired touchscreen infotainment that runs on the latest SYNC 4A software. It is then complemented by Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability, Bluetooth, USB, navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a 10-speaker sound system.

Don’t expect to find a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel under the hood of the Everest Wildtrak. Instead, this beast comes with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 that generates 250 PS and 600 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a full-time AWD system via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

UPDATE: The Thai-spec Everest Wildtrak actually comes with the 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel that makes 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque. It doesn't get the V6 turbo-diesel as originally reported.

With Thailand now getting its hands on the 2023 Ford Everest Wildtrak, it might not be long before it makes its way to other ASEAN markets. Perhaps the only question now is will Ford Philippines actually bring it here?
