BIMS 2023: Mitsubishi XRT Concept is next-gen Strada/Triton
Mitsubishi Motors previews next-generation Triton Strada as XRT Concept at 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show

Mitsubishi looks to be hyping up the arrival of the next-generation Strada / Triton pickup for the ASEAN market even further. From being spotted testing in camouflaged form on the roads of Thailand, the upcoming pick-up truck is now dressed up with a camouflage livery, and an outfit that looks ready for the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR).

The Japanese manufacturer is showcasing the XRT Concept at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show. The XRT Concept is the all-new Strada / Triton pick-up truck in its almost production-ready form.

The concept truck is fitted with front and rear over-fenders, as well as mud-terrain tires and a snorkel. Quite simply, Mitsubishi outfitted the XRT Concept similarly to the Ralliart Triton pick-up truck that won last year's AXCR, and features the 10 signature parallel lines of the Ralliart brand in its rear passenger doors.

Despite Mitsubishi's best efforts in hiding the truck's lines in a camouflage livery, we can still see that the upcoming Strada / Triton will look like a bigger and taller Xpander Cross when viewed from the front. It has a split headlight design with the LED DRLs up top, and the main headlight unit below.
The XRT Concept also shows that Mitsubishi has completely ditched the J-line design feature we've seen from the fourth and fifth-generation Strada / Triton models for a more boxy stance. The previous two generations of the pick-up truck were known for having one of the most comfortable seating in its segment, but now it looks like Mitsubishi has exchanged rear passenger comfort for more truck bed space.
The rear of the XRT Concept has its taillights wrapped in camouflage, but the lines poking out suggest the next-generation Strada / Triton will have bigger taillights than its predecessor.

For now, Mitsubishi remains mum about the next-generation Strada / Triton's powertrain details, and we may have to wait until its full reveal to know more. That said, we won't have to wait that long until the all-new Strada / Triton sheds its camouflage, as Mitsubishi revealed plans to launch the truck before the production XFC Concept comes out in August.
What's also of note is this new Strada/Triton model will also underpin the next-generation Nissan Navara pickup as part of their platform-sharing process in the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance.
