Big & Bold: 2020 BMW X7 now in PH, starts at Php9.290M

For the longest time, BMW's largest crossover offering has been the X5. Not anymore. After making its world debut late last year, Bavaria's biggest luxury crossover is now in the Philippines. Say hello to the 2020 BMW X7.

Starting with its most promiment feature, the X7 has the biggest dual kidney grill among its crossover stablemates which gives it a bold yet stately look. It is then accompanied by a pair of sleek LED headlights with integrated light signatures. Splashes of chrome, as well as gentle creases on the doors and fenders further highlight the X7's girth and size. And in typical BMW fashion, the Hoffmeister Kink and L-shaped taillights are ever present on BMW's biggest crossover.

Open the doors and neat touches of aluminum, high-gloss finishes and wood are present inside the X7. In standard form, the X7 has seating for seven although there is the option of having it with captain seats at the second row. Other features present in the X7 include: heated and cooled seats, power-adjustable seats with memory function, five-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and power tailgate with automatic sensors.

As far as technologies are concerned, the X7 makes use of a fully-digital instrument panel along with the latest generation iDrive infotainment system. Besides supporting Bluetooth, USB and Apple CarPlay, the new iDrive also comes with voice command (can be activated by saying 'Hey BMW') along with gesture control. The X7 also has two neat features standard, namely adaptive suspension (Dynamic Damper Control), and laser headlights. 

There’s only one engine option for the X7, but it’s a potent one. Behind the massive grill is the tried and tested 3.0-liter, straight-six turbodiesel. It’s the same one found in the 530d, and power figures are rated at 265 PS and a substantial 620 Nm of torque. It then shifts via an eight-speed automatic transmission and power is coursed via xDrive all-wheel drive.
