Bentley EXP 15 concept is brand's vision for its first EV
Bentley unveils radically designed EXP 15 concept as design study for its first EV

Bentley is set to introduce its first electric vehicle around next year, and now they’re giving clues to what we could expect from it.
The British luxury brand presents the EXP 15, which Bentley claims is a representation of its new radical styling direction for its future EVs.

And yes, the EXP 15 does provide a big departure from the design language we’re used to from Bentley. The model looks like a three-door lifted sedan with an upright front end and a fastback-style treatment at the rear.

As it is an EV, the EXP 15 has the usual Bentley grille but enclosed since it does not need to feed air inside the bonnet. Vertical LED headlights flank the enclosed grille while up top is Bentley’s new winged emblem.

The concept has a combination of streamlined bodywork and edgy lines, while the wheel arches are still rounded. The enclosed wheels suggest Bentley focusing on reducing air resistance while the sloping rear end is finished off by slim C-shaped taillights.

Inside, the EXP 15 features an odd three-seater layout; one seat in front, and two at the rear. The three-seat layout was inspired by the 1930 three-seater Bentley Speed Six known as the “Blue Train”. The usual spot for the front passenger was replaced with a space fit for a dog bed or suitcases, while the rear passenger seat swivels up to 45 degrees outward for easy entry and egress.
The concept is conceived to have an all-wheel-drive, presumably dual motor powertrain with long range and fast recharging speeds.

The EXP 15 does have pretty ambitious and odd features, but Bentley’s first EV could be significantly toned down since it will share its electric architecture with the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric.
