Auto China: 2024 Mini Aceman EV makes world debut
Mini reveals the all-electric 2024 Aceman crossover at Auto China

Mini has come to Auto China with the all-electric vehicle that will slot between the Cooper hatch and the Countryman crossover.
Making its world debut in Beijing is the Mini Aceman. Presenting a distinctive look that combines elements of the Cooper and the Countryman, the Aceman slots in as a funky-looking subcompact crossover offering of Mini.

Bearing the signature octagonal grille in front, the Mini Aceman gets its own unique styling cues with its LED daytime running lights and the Matrix-style rear taillights that has three different modes and graphics.
Unlike the Cooper, the Aceman gets conventional flat door handles while the matte black cladding on the undersides add a bit of ruggedness to the look of the vehicle. Depending on the trim, the Mini Aceman could be offered with wheel sizes ranging from 17” to 19”. Size-wise, the Aceman measures 4.07 meters in length, 1.75 meters in width and 1.50 meters in height.

Mini offers the Aceman in four trims – Essential, Classic, Favored, and JCW. Each variant will have different features inside, including the steering wheel. The entry-level Aceman Essential gets a two-spoke steering wheel, while the rest get three-spoke units as standard.

Inside, the Aceman gets a 9.5-inch OLED circular touchscreen display that serves as the primary interface for the instruments, infotainment and voice command. But underneath the screen, Mini retained a bunch of switches for things like the gear selector, start-stop button, parking brake, drive mode selector and air conditioning.
The Aceman shares its electric powertrain with the Cooper Electric, and comes with two variants – the entry-level Aceman E packs a 184 PS electric motor with 290 Nm of torque and a 42.5 kWh battery that has a range of 310 km in the WLTP cycle. On the other hand, the Aceman SE takes it a notch higher with 218 PS and 330 Nm of torque. The bigger 54.2 kWh battery on the Aceman SE gives it a range of up to 406 km according to the WLTP.

Performance-wise ,the Aceman E can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h. The more powerful Aceman SE does 0 to 100 in 7.1 seconds, and can hit 170 km/h.
In terms of charging, the Aceman E and SE can both charge up to 11 kW in AC. For DC charging, the Aceman E can take up to 75 kW, while the SE gets up to 95 kW. The latter is capable from charging at 10% to 80% SoC in just under 30 minutes.

Pricing is still unavailable, but production of the Mini Aceman is set to commence in China before making its way to the Mini Oxford plant in the UK by 2026.
