Audi Q6 E-Tron prototype has 396 PS, 600-km range
Will use an 800-volt architecture to deliver as much as 396 HP and a 600-km range

After years of development and most recently winter testing in Sweden at Audi’s KALT1, the marque has taken the camouflage off the upcoming Q6 E-Tron. While the sleek features and aggressive shape give us an idea of what the finished product could look like, the purple covering the body lines and other exterior enhancements give this prototype a cartoonish look.

In front are LED headlamps with daytime running lamps and a white faux grille with a matte white Audi emblem in the middle. It has roof rails on top, including a shark’s fin antenna and a rear spoiler. The rear brings up LED taillights connected by a light bar.

What is getting people talking about the Q6 E-Tron is what’s underneath. It uses the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed by Audi and Porsche that accommodates an 800-volt system so it can fast-charge from 10 to 80% in under 30 minutes.

The Q6 E-Tron draws power from a 100-kWh battery to get its two electric motors to produce 375 HP, with a power boost of up to 396 PS for short intervals. Audi claims that it will have a 600-kilometer range. An SQ6 version is also in the works. It will share the same powertrain as the Q6 E-tron but with a tweaked output of 483 HP (power boost of up to 510 HP) to let it go from 0-96 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds.

Audi Philippines isn’t offering the Q6 yet. Should they wait (a few more years) and just bring in the E-Tron version?
