Aston Martin Vantage gets 665 PS twin-turbo V8 for 2025

The current-generation Aston Martin Vantage has been around since 2018. Apart from being the British brand’s high-performance model offering, the Vantage shares duties with the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series as the official safety car of Formula One.

Over the years, the Vantage has received criticism for being “too slow” in its safety car compared to its Mercedes counterpart. But finally, Aston Martin has heeded the call by giving the Vantage a massive update. And yes, that includes a big bump in power.

Visually, the 2025 Vantage has a bigger grille with a new mesh pattern, along with a pair of Matrix LED headlights that look similar to the DB12. The rear end likewise got a wider rear bumper and larger diameter tailpipes.

Inside, the changes include a new dashboard with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, an 11-speaker, 390-watt audio system that’s upgradeable to a 15-speaker, 1,170-watt system from Bowers & Wilkins.

But perhaps, the biggest change lies in what’s under the hood. The Aston Martin Vantage for the 2025 model year is now producing 665 PS and 800 Nm of torque from its 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine – a significant gain of 155 PS and 115 Nm over the old model. No, it was not done through electrification; Aston Martin did it the “old school”, hot-rodding way.

Engineers have modified the 4.0-liter V8’s cam profiles and increased the compression ratio, while the turbochargers are bigger. Three new heat exchangers were added to manage both cooling and charge temperatures, along with a larger oil cooler.

The ZF 8-speed transmission was retained along with the electronic limited slip differential, but the final drive has been shortened for quicker acceleration. The new Vantage reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.4 seconds, while top speed is still pegged at 325 km/h.

To complement the huge power bump, Aston Martin says the Vantage has a more rigid chassis with better torsional rigidity thanks to the re-positioning and re-engineering of suspension components, along with new Bilstein DTX dampers for better handling. Changes to the Vantage’s electronic software and hardware have also been made to deliver more performance and driver engagement.

Aston Martin says they will start deliveries by Q2 of 2024 to customers, while an F1 Edition could soon follow.
