Astara PH is new distributor of JMC pickup trucks
The Philippine pickup truck arena will be heating up with JMC set to disrupt the market

Astara Philippines has just been appointed as the official importer and distributor of a new brand in the local market. Aside from having Peugeot and GAC, Astara has also been selected to distribute JMC pickup trucks in the Philippines.

The agreement follows Astara’s successful cooperation with the brand in the Chilean, Bolivian, and Colombian markets in 2019. The recent move also solidifies Astara’s presence globally and further strengthens its operations in the Philippines. Aside from distributing JMC pickup trucks in the country, Astara will also distribute parts and services for the local market.
“At Astara, we are honored to include JMC in our distribution activities in The Philippines. This leading brand stands as a great asset to our portfolio in the Philippines, aligning perfectly with Astara’s vision for the future of mobility. Our successful representation of the brand in other countries demonstrates our ability to serve its loyal customers, dealer network, and business partners,” said Jorge Navea, CEO of Astara.

Suen Xiaoquan, president of Jiangxi Jiangling Motors Import & Export Co., Ltd. (JMIE), says they are delighted to work with Astara in the pickup truck market.
“We are delighted to collaborate with ASTARA in the pickup vehicle market. Together, we will offer more choices, better options, and exceptional customer service, all designed to meet the evolving needs of the market and exceed the expectations of Philippine consumers,” shared the executive

There’s no word yet as to what JMC vehicles Astara will bring to the Philippines. But based on the images they provided, it will likely include the Grand Avenue pickup. It’s powered by a 2.3-liter turbo-diesel or a 2.3-liter turbo-gasoline engine. The former puts out 177 PS with 450 Nm of torque while the latter produces 245 PS and 400 Nm of pull. Both engines can then be mated to either a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission from Getrag.

Inside, we can expect the Grand Avenue pickup from JMC to get a dual-tone cabin, a full-leather interior, a touchscreen infotainment, an electronic parking brake, and an electro-mechanical gear selector for the automatic variants.
Expect more details about JMC pickup trucks coming to PH soon.
