Angeles-Friendship intersection closed on Sundays for flyover construction
Road closure part of ongoing construction of Cutcut flyover

For motorists and residents who frequently pass by the Cutcut Intersection in Angeles, Pampanga, you might want to reserve the Sundays of August for some rest and relaxation at home.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be closing down the Cutcut Intersection from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM on August 7, 14, and 28 (all Sundays). The road closure will be done to launch the concrete girders on the Cutcut flyover that is being constructed in the area.

For August 7 and 28, motorists can still pass through the intersection as there will only be a partial closure. However, on August 14, the intersection will be totally closed. Motorists should expect heavy traffic in the area on all those dates.

As such, DPWH released the following alternate routes for affected motorists:
Those coming from Porac going to Angeles City/Clark are advised to pass through the Porac access road and use SCTEX. Meanwhile, motorists from Porac to San Fernando can use the mega dike access road through Brgy. Maliwalu/Lara – Marlboro. On the other hand, vehicles from Angeles City going to Porac are advised to also use SCTEX.

Vehicles already in the Fil-Am Friendship Highway from Telebastagan going to Angeles City can take the Apo Road - L&S subdivision, Brgy. Sto Domingo route, while those from Clark going to Angeles City may pass through Poinsettia Avenue to their destination.

This road closure of course will cause some inconvenience to Pampanga motorists, so it might be best to reserve their trips from Monday to Saturday while avoiding doing important work on Sundays.
