An importer is selling a Toyota GR Corolla in PH

Currently, Toyota Motor Philippines has one missing Gazoo Racing model in its lineup. They already have the GR Yaris, the GR Supra, and the GR86, but they are yet to bring in the GR Corolla in the country.

Well, a particular importer has one-upped the manufacturer. And if you're looking to buy one, well they already have it on hand.

Yes, there's already several units of the Toyota GR Corolla that have arrived in the country. It appears to have been imported directly from the US, as the importer is also bringing in other USDM Toyota models such as the Sequoia, the Tundra, and the Highlander (aka Crown Kluger).

As we all know, the GR Corolla is the more practical all-wheel-drive turbo Toyota in the GR lineup as it comes with 5 doors instead of just 3 in the GR Yaris. It's powered by the same 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo that's found in the GR Yaris, albeit producing more power at 304 PS and 370 Nm of torque.

So how much is the retail for the gray market GR Corolla? Well, you have to shell out quite a bit – PHP 6.5 million to be exact. That price tag is significantly more than what its rival, the Honda Civic Type R is fetching both on SRP and even with the added “VTEC tax”.

For now, TMP has not announced if they are officially bringing the GR Corolla to the country. Even in the ASEAN region, only Thailand has the GR Corolla and they even have them in very limited units only.

So if you really want the GR Corolla for yourself (and have the means for it), get the only existing unit in the country, before somebody else picks it up.
