All-new Suzuki Grand Vitara coming to ASEAN next month
Indonesia will be the first ASEAN market to get all-new Suzuki Grand Vitara

After making its global debut in India last year, the Suzuki Grand Vitara will make its grand return to the ASEAN market next month.

Suzuki Indonesia posted a shadowy photo with the tagline “Guess who's back?”. They did not name the model they're launching, but the silhouette and the light signatures were a dead giveaway that it's indeed the all-new Grand Vitara.
The all-new Grand Vitara is a result of Suzuki's partnership with Toyota, and as a result, the model shares a lot in common with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, including its all-hybrid powertrains.

When it made its debut, the all-new Grand Vitara had two 1.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid powertrain options – a smart mild-hybrid and an intelligent electric hybrid. The former produces 103 PS at 6000 rpm and 137 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. If those numbers sound familiar, that is because it's the exact same engine powering the Ertiga Hybrid that was just recently launched in the Philippine market.
In addition, the Grand Vitara has Suzuki's AllGrip Select four-wheel-drive system for select models that lets the driver choose from 4 driving modes (Auto, Sport, Snow, Lock) depending on road surfaces or conditions.

For now, it has not been confirmed if both hybrid powertrains will be made available in the ASEAN market. We'll also keep our eyes peeled if the all-new Grand Vitara will be built in Suzuki's Indonesia hub, or will land as an imported CBU from India.
Suzuki Philippines has already begun its electrification plans when it launched the Ertiga Hybrid. With the XL7 Hybrid also confirmed to arrive in the country, the all-new Grand Vitara could very well fit in as Suzuki's hybrid offering, especially in the 5-seater compact crossover segment.
The all-new Grand Vitara will be launched at the 2023 Indonesia International Motor Show which will run from February 16-26, 2023.
