All-new Honda Prelude to go on sale in Japan this Sept 2025, will PH get it?
Sleek and sporty Honda Prelude combines e:HEV efficiency with the brand's signature performance

After plenty of teasers, reveals, and insider info, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has officially announced that the all-new Prelude is set to hit the market later this year. That's right, Honda's sleek and stylish hybrid coupe will go on sale, and the Japanese market will be the first to get their hands on it.
To officially commemorate its upcoming launch, the automaker has released new photos of the hybrid coupe, as well as launched a teaser website for the new-generation Prelude. But what can buyers expect from the electrified two-door?

Starting with its exterior, Honda claims the Prelude's design was inspired by gliders soaring freely through the open sky. Under the brand's grand concept of “Unlimited Glide”, the Prelude's proportions highlight an aerodynamic and expressive shape.
With its low and sharp front nose that's paired with smooth body lines and a wide stance, the all-new Prelude evokes a dynamic and sporty design. It also features unique design features such as LED headlights inspired by gliders, smooth and clear door panels with flush door handles, and a black chrome-painted front grille.
A total of four colors will be available for the Prelude and include Crystal Black Pearl, Flame Red, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Moonlit White Pearl.

Hop inside, and the Unlimited Glide concept makes its way into the cabin. While some might say the interior borrows some inspiration from the Civic, it gets some unique styling elements like a unique instrument panel, embroidered Prelude logo on the front seat backrests, and a choice of two-tone cabin finishes, Blue & White and Blue & Black.
Also worth mentioning is the Prelude's button-style gear selector that appears to have been inspired by the previous NSX. What's nice to see is that the S+ shift mode has been carried over to the production model. When activated, it simulates sound effects and torque mapping to mimic gear shifts for a more engaging driving experience.
Other interior features worth mentioning are the honeycomb-inspired aircon vents, the dials/gauges for the climate control system, the blue contrast stitching throughout the cabin, the soft-padded dashboard, a large-opening liftback, and the 2+2 seating layout.

Powertrain details remain a mystery, but based on previous reports, the all-new Prelude will have a Civic e:HEV-derived powertrain. That means it will likely get the 2.0L e:HEV power-split hybrid system that's assisted by a lithium-ion battery pack. No output figures have been revealed just yet, but since the Civic e:HEV already makes 200 PS and 315 Nm of torque, we won't be surprised if the Prelude generates more.
With the market launch set for September 2025, excitement for the all-new Honda Prelude is already building. But the bigger question remains: will Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) bring the electrified coupe to the country in the future? Since HCPI already sells several e:HEV models, we're willing to bet the automaker is already considering or perhaps thinking about it.
