All-new and electric: Welcome the Mini Cooper and Countryman
It also debuts the Mini Operating System 9 and the Mini Interaction Unit

It is the dawn of a new era for Mini as the automaker launches two of its best-selling models, and both arrive with a fully electrified powertrain – the all-new electric, three-door Cooper and electric Countryman.

“The continued high demand for our locally emission-free vehicles confirms our path to a fully electric future. It demonstrates the openness of our global Mini community to electric mobility, and I am confident that the new generation of Mini models will inspire even more people. Thanks to our electrified go-kart feeling, an immersive user experience, and a responsible attitude, the new Mini family is tailor-made for urban target groups all around the world,” said Stefanie Wurst, head of the Mini brand.

Both models are emission-free and have new technological features that take the Mini go-kart driving experience to a new level of fun and excitement. Its bodies reflect the new Charismatic Simplicity design language epitomized by short overhangs and hood, a long wheelbase, big wheels, flush door handles, and the absence of fender flares and side scuttles. LED headlights are standard, along with Matrix LED taillights (with three different settings).

The Mini Cooper EV (electric vehicle) is available in the Cooper E variant and as the Cooper SE. Under the new lineup, “Cooper” refers to all Mini 3-door and 5-door models and also the Mini Convertible. It is no longer used as an engine specification. Buyers have four trims to choose from – Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW. The Cooper E has an 184 HP electric motor putting out 290 Nm of torque, which takes it from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The Cooper SE uses a 218 HP engine with 330 Nm of torque to take it from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The range determined in the WLTP test cycle is 305 kilometers for the Cooper E and 402 kilometers for the Cooper SE.
Inside, it has a central OLED display and the Interaction Unit. Passengers can access its features by saying the words “Hey Mini”. It has a wireless charging pad and a newly designed reduced toggle bar with five switches, which includes all driving functions. The gearshift has been eliminated to create additional storage space between the front seats. All trims of the all-electric Mini Cooper feature seats in high-quality Vescin artificial leather, while all textiles and yarns for the seat, knitted surfaces, vehicle headliner, and floor are made from recycled materials.

Want a bigger Mini? We know it sounds like an oxymoron, but that marque made it possible with the taller and longer Countryman EV. The Countryman E has a 204 HP electric motor with 250 Nm of torque that drives the vehicle from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The Countryman SE ALL4 uses a set of electric motors that put out a combined 313 HP and 494 Nm of torque, which is capable of taking it from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

The range determined according to the WLTP test cycle is 462 kilometers for the Countryman E and 433 kilometers for the Countryman SE ALL4. Its bigger body makes it the most spacious Countryman to date. It shares the same amenities as the Cooper EV but gets many new, digital additional functions in the Mini Connected Package. The four available trims are Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW.

It is an exciting time for Mini with the debut of its two fully electric models. With the Cooper EV and Countryman EV, you get the same fun, go-kart driving experience without the guilt of belching out harmful emissions.
