All-new 495 HP Nissan Patrol NISMO unleashed and we want one
Y63 Nissan Patrol gets a healthy dose of NISMO upgrades

After being leaked ahead of its global debut, Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new Patrol NISMO. Featuring a sportier and bolder look, the flagship Patrol gets a healthy dose of exterior and interior upgrades, along with an even more powerful twin-turbo V6.
Starting with the most obvious, the Patrol NISMO gets a more dynamic V-Motion front grille with vertical and horizontal strokes. It also has a three-dimensional honeycomb mesh, which has been purposefully designed for better airflow and improved radiator performance. Meanwhile, the side portions of the front bumper feature grille curtains that divide airflow horizontally and create vortices. These help pull air from inside the wheel wells to reduce lift, increase downforce, and contribute to more confident handling.

At the rear, it features an extended rear spoiler that has been elongated to help separate the air from the body. It also gets rear side splitters, layered air diffusers, and air outlets that collectively generate rear downforce for better grip. As a final touch, NISMO red accents are integrated onto the “Double Layered Wing”, which highlights the Patrol NISMO’s precision-tuned performance, and a Formula E-inspired rear fog lamp that increases the SUV’s racing-inspired design.

Climb aboard, and the Patrol NISMO features a black and red color scheme complete with contrast stitching on the dashboard, steering wheel, seats, and doors. The sleek look is also enhanced by tactile and visual quality features, including metallic elements, red decorative finishers, and genuine leather-suede upholstery.
The seats, meanwhile, offer exceptional support and come with a honeycomb quilting pattern that mirrors the exterior grille mesh. To remind everyone they are in something special, signature NISMO logos are embroidered on the headrests. Other key cabin features include a red start/stop button, carbon fiber-inspired surfaces, and aluminum pedals.

At the heart of the Patrol NISMO is, you guessed it, a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 dubbed the VR35DDTT. Unlike the regular Patrol, which already makes an impressive 431 PS, NISMO was able to extract more horsepower and gave it a healthier 495 PS in Sport Mode. Torque, however, remains the same at an impressive 700 Nm.

Further highlighting the Patrol NISMO’s performance pedigree are massive 22-inch RAYS aluminum forged alloy wheels. It gets a 9-spoke design that is 23% more lightweight than regular wheels. They are then wrapped in high-performance tires that measure 275/50 for maximum grip and lateral control across a variety of conditions and road surfaces. The suspension system has also been lowered to give the Patrol NISMO better handling at the cost of a lowered ride height and ground clearance.

For now, the all-new Nissan Patrol NISMO is exclusive to the Middle East market. However, we won’t be surprised if gray market units make their way to other countries like the Philippines. After all, Nissan claims the Philippines is the second most popular market for the Patrol, just behind the Middle East.
