All-electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class coming to PH this 2025
The G 580 EV is set to deliver over 1,160 Nm of torque

After making its global debut in the PRC nearly a year ago, Mercedes-Benz's all-electric go-anywhere 4x4 is set to arrive in the Philippines later this year. You read right, the electric G-Class is on its way here and it could come sooner than expected.
This was officially confirmed by Mercedes-Benz Philippines distributor Inchcape who recently shared the news. The automaker said the G 580 with EQ Technology will arrive in the Philippines by the end of Q2 or around Q3 2025. Official specifications and equipment list have yet to be revealed although a quick look at what other markets get has given us a good idea of what to expect.

Starting with the most important aspect, the G 580 EV will have individual electric motors that power each wheel – totaling four electric motors. This translates to a combined system output of 587 PS and a whopping 1,164 Nm of torque. Power is then supplied by a high-voltage 116 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which gives it a range of up to 473 km based on the WLTP cycle.
From a standstill, Mercedes-Benz claims the EV can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h. But perhaps the most important aspect of the G 580 EV is that it can still go off-road despite not having internal combustion. That's because the electric 4x4 features torque vectoring to generate virtual differential locks to ensure maximum traction and handling over any terrain. It also gets three-speed intelligent off-road crawl functions, G-Turn, and G-Steering which is the brand's version of tank turn.

Despite having an electric powertrain, the 4x4 electric G-Class is still more than capable of wading through high waters as it's rated to have a maximum fording depth of 850mm – 150mm more than the ICE-powered G-Class models.
With the electric G-Class set to arrive soon, the premium electric 4x4 SUV segment is about to get more crowded.
