After LX, Lexus suspends orders for NX crossover
Due to supply chain problems, Lexus NX orders also suspended

The demand is way up but the supply just can’t cope. That seems to be what’s happening with Toyota nowadays. The Japanese manufacturer recently halted the production of their flagship 4x4 SUV, the LC300 together with its cousin the Lexus LX.
And now, another Lexus model has been affected by the supply chain problems. Which one? The NX model line.

The company officially announced this on their Japanese website regarding the suspension, which states that they tried to try to fulfill all orders for the luxury vehicle but apologized as they could not actively continue production. Meanwhile, longer wait times are expected for those who ordered the models affected by parts shortages.

The NX comes with a variant called the NX450h+ which has received interest from the market due to its plug-in hybrid feature since gas prices have gone up. With the supply of raw materials for building batteries being part of the major supply problem, EVs and PHEV models that Lexus may also be affected or suspended sooner or later.

Locally, no official statement has come from Lexus Manila as of yet. But since the NX crossover comes out of Toyota's Japan factories like the LX and the LC300 models, we should expect the halting of orders to happen in the country as well.

In addition, Toyota has no specific date yet as to how long this order suspension will last. In Australia, the current waiting period for a Lexus NX is a minimum of 18 months already. So why keep customers waiting longer if supply is scarce, right?
