After Japan, Toyota to reveal FJ Cruiser Final Edition for Saudi Arabia

The Toyota FJ Cruiser may not be the most practical vehicle to have. But for some Toyota owners, the boxy SUV not only makes for a good 4x4 vehicle, but it's also one of the easiest to modify with lots of aftermarket support.

Whether it's for the street or for the road less traveled, the FJ Cruiser can cater to both clientele. But like most things in life, not everything lasts forever. And for the Saudi Arabian market, the Toyota FJ Cruise will soon be on its way out.

To give the SUV a proper send-off, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, an authorized Toyota dealer in Saudi Arabia since 1955, has announced it will be releasing a special edition model for the 4x4. Aptly called the FJ Cruiser Final Edition, only 1,000 units of the run-out special will be made for the Saudi Arabian market.

Official pictures of the Final Edition have not yet been revealed by the automaker. However, they did say that it will be painted in a single-tone beige color for the exterior, upholstery, and center cluster trim. It will also have a special black finish on the grille, bumpers, side mirrors, door handles, and spare tire cover. If anything, the Final Edition for Saudi Arabia could look similar to what Japan got back in 2017 and was also aptly called the Final Edition, too.

Last but not least, it will have a badge indicating the vehicle's unique number – further highlighting the limited run of the Final Edition.

Under the hood, the FJ Cruiser Final Edition will come with the familiar 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated V6. It will make 270 PS along with 380 Nm of torque. To help it go over any terrain, it will be equipped with active traction control (A-TRAC), Crawl Control, and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.

With the FJ Cruiser set to ride off into the sunset in Saudi Arabia, does this mean the SUV is also not long for the Philippine market? With Toyota essentially just finishing the remaining production of the FJ Cruiser in December 2022, it sure does look like it.
