A Pit Autobacs opens JDM car culture outlet in Haneda airport

If you’re an avid car enthusiast, experiencing Japan’s car culture and spotting JDM legends will always be part of the itinerary when flying to the Land of the Rising Sun. And for that, you may have heard of or visited A Pit Autobacs in Shinonome.
It’s basically the Toy Kingdom of sorts for car enthusiasts, as you can spot Japanese performance cars being serviced at the workshop, while upstairs there’s a variety of car-related items such as shirts, scale models, stickers, magazines, and even performance car parts that you can buy and bring home as omiyage or pasalubong to your car friends.

The shop has proved popular among foreign visitors to Japan. And in response to this, the people from Autobacs has now put up a shop where you can do some JDM shopping minutes before boarding a plane going back home.
They call it the A Pit Autobacs JDM:Base, which is basically the brand’s first venture into having a JDM lifestyle store. It is located at the Haneda Airport Garden which is a commercial complex directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3.

It’s different from the usual Autobacs group shops found in many locations in Japan, as A Pit Autobacs JDM:Base is dedicated to selling car-related merchandise instead of the usual car accessories, car parts, and servicing offered by other Autobacs outlets.
The store stocks a wide range of products, including the apparel collection of "Drift King" Keiichi Tsuchiya, car design T-shirts featuring cars such as the Civic and RX-7, and unique Honda x Pandiesta Japan apparel. The store also offers a lineup of apparel incorporating designs of characters from Japanese anime that are popular overseas, car-related items, and a variety of miniature cars.

As a duty-free store, the A Pit Autobacs JDM:Base offers tax-free shopping for temporary visitors in Japan once you spend more than JPY 5,000. So for car enthusiasts coming to Japan, you know what to do. Happy shopping!
