45th Bangkok Motor Show welcomes 1.6M visitors, books 53,438 cars
45th Bangkok International Motor Show an astounding success with 58,611 cars and motorcycles booked and over 1.6 million visitors.

The recently concluded 45th Bangkok International Motor Show held from March 27 to April 7, 2024 attracted 1,610,972 visitors to the Challenger Halls of Impact Muang Thong Thani. The annual motor show also attracted new brands to this year’s spectacle giving more offerings to visitors and potential buyers.

Being a car sales motor show, organizers boasted 53,438 sales bookings generated for cars and 5,173 motorcycles booked to a total of 58,611 units during the two-week duration of the show. Electric vehicles continued to gain popularity with more accessible choices from China, resulting in 17,517 vehicles booked; 32.78% of the total car bookings.

The top 5 booked brands at the show were Toyota with a total of 8,540 vehicles, BYD in 2nd with 5,345 vehicles, Honda in 3rd with 4,607 vehicles, MG in 4th with 3,518 units, and Mitsubishi with 3,409 in 5th. It is quite interesting to see Chinese makers in the top 5 positions in a market previously dominated by Japanese brands. It is worth noting that the total sales bookings of Chinese brands totaled 20,113 units, a significant 37.64% of the total bookings at the event.

“In terms of consumer behavior, there has been a notable response to newly unveiled car models at the motor show, with many making reservations for the first time at the event. This can be observed from the intense negotiations, particularly during the final weekend where reservation numbers doubled compared to regular days. However, due to changing consumer behaviors, aligning with the need for more value in purchases, many have turned to buying newer cars that offer better value for money. Despite this shift, the luxury car market continues to grow steadily, driven by car manufacturers launching new variants and products in almost every model, aiming to stimulate sales,” said Jaturont Kumolmis, Chief Operations Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, as Vice Chairman of the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show.
The 46th Bangkok International Motor Show will be held from March 26 to April 6, 2025, at Impact Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani.
