3-km section of NLEX Candaba Viaduct southbound closed on Nov 3
A counterflow lane for Manila-bound motorists will be set up later tonight

Heads up to motorists heading towards Manila and beyond later tonight via the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). The NLEX Corporation announced that there will be road works along the southbound portion of the said viaduct.
By 8 PM tonight, a 3-kilometer section of the viaduct will be closed to all types of vehicles for concreting works on the roadway. The scheduled roadwork will will be completed on November 4, 2022, at 5:00 AM.

A counterflow lane will be implemented along the northbound lane for Manila-bound motorists to take while the road works are being conducted. In addition, traffic patrol crews/marshals will be deployed to guide motorists while direction signs will be put up in strategic areas.
The scheduled concreting tasks on the Candaba viaduct are part of NLEX Corporation's major rehabilitation works on the key segment of the expressway. Repairs first started last July 2022 and have resulted in the rerouting of trucks with 12 wheels or more. Only trucks with a maximum of 10 wheels and with a weight not exceeding 33 tons will be allowed to use the southbound section of the Candaba Viaduct.

Heavier trucks heading southbound can choose from two alternate routes; from Angeles/San Fernando via Gapan, Nueva Ecija, or from Mabalacat via Gapan, Nueva Ecija. Depending on their schedule, they can take these routes between the hours of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
