2026 Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid launching in PH
Subaru PH to join the hybrid car market with all-new Forester

Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas is preparing to enter the electrified car market. After making its world debut at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show, the all-new Subaru Forester is about to make its Philippine debut.

What's even better is that the next-generation Forester for the Philippine market will be powered by the brand's new e-Boxer Hybrid powertrain, which was co-developed with Toyota. That's right, Subaru's newest compact crossover will be a hybrid, taking on the likes of the Honda CR-V e:HEV and Toyota RAV4 HEV.
Subaru Philippines has yet to reveal details about the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid's powertrain, but a quick look at what other markets get has given us an idea of what to expect.

This means we can expect the Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid for the Philippine market to have a 2.5L Atkinson/Miller cycle boxer engine that's assisted by two electric motors (one generator and a traction motor). The result is a combined system output of 194 PS and 209 Nm of torque. Power is then transferred to a Lineartronic CVT and the brand's Symmetrical AWD system.
Besides having an electrified powertrain, the all-new Forester e-Boxer Hybrid may likely come with the following features: an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and the latest version of Subaru EyeSight ADAS.

With Subaru already teasing the all-new Forester e-Boxer Hybrid and already appearing on the Department of Energy's list of recognized hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), perhaps it's only a matter of time before the automaker officially unveils the electrified compact crossover to the market. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it will happen sooner rather than later.
