2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets an update, new entry-level variant for PH
Hyundai Motor Philippines launches updated Ioniq 5 EV with new GL variant

Hyundai Motor Philippines had a trio of new car launches last night. Among those included was the debut of the brand’s flagship SUVs – the all-new Palisade Hybrid and the all-new Ioniq 9.
The third one is an update for the brand’s award-winning EV – the Ioniq 5. Featuring enhancements to its all-electric range, new features, and a few key design revisions, the refreshed Ioniq 5 also gets a new entry-level GL variant with a lower price.

Starting with the looks, the new Ioniq 5 has an updated grille, reshaped bumpers, and a new set of aerodynamic wheels. Hyundai also added a rear wiper for better visibility in bad weather conditions, and fitted digital side mirrors in the top-spec version to further streamline the car’s airflow on the sides.

Hyundai retained most of the layout inside, but the interior gets a darker shade of gray for the dashboard. Additional buttons were added to serve as extra shortcuts for often-used functions such as the heating and ventilation of the front seats, the heated steering wheel, and the cameras for park assist. The rotary gear selector has also been replaced with a steering column-mounted stalk lever.
As for its electric powertrain, the GL and GLS Standard Range variants have a 170 PS, 350 Nm motor, and a 63 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives up to 440 km of range. For the top-spec long range version, power output is higher at 229 PS while the 84 kWh battery takes the Ioniq 5 up to 530 km of driving range.

All Ioniq 5 variants are capable of V2L or vehicle-to-load function, but only the long-range version gets the entire Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite that was expanded with reverse parking collision avoidance assist and side parking distance warning.

Lastly, the new Ioniq 5 is made-to-order, available in 9 exterior and 4 interior colors – allowing up to 36 different color combinations. For exterior colors, customers can choose from the Abyss Black Pearl, Cyber Gray Metallic, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Matte, Atlas White, Atlas White Matte, Gravity Gold Matte, Lucid Blue Pearl, and Digital Teal-Green Pearl. For interior colors, there’s Obsidian Black, Heritage Brown, Dark Pebble Gray, and Mud Gray.
The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 retails for the following prices:
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV GL 2WD Standard Range - PHP 2,840,000
2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV GLS 2WD Standard Range - PHP 3,068,000
