2026 Honda Passport has big off-road intentions

Honda isn’t exactly the first brand that comes to mind if you want to have something that can go off-road. But hey, there’s always a first time for everything, right?

Here’s the all-new Honda Passport for the North American market. And yes, just look at that SUV with its Sunset Orange paintjob. Basically, Honda decided to take things the Raptor way with the Passport’s TrailSport version.

The boxy look does exhibit ruggedness, but we can’t help but see the Nissan Terrano from the 90s with the way Honda designed the squarish front end and the placing of those hood vents.

Standard features for the TrailSport include an off-road tuned suspension that gives increased ground clearance and better approach/departure angles, flared fenders housing 31-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, steel skid plates, and bright-colored heavy duty recovery hooks in case the going gets too tough on the trail.

Inside, there’s more Raptor references with the orange stitching giving contrast to the black cabin. There’s a standard 10.2-inch digital instrument display with readouts for roll, pitch, and elevation. For infotainment, a 12.3-inch touchscreen takes care of things with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, while a 12-speaker sound system from Bose keeps the premium aural experience inside for the TrailSport Elite model.

Powering the 2026 Honda Passport is an improved version of the 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine, producing 285 PS and 355 Nm of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via the i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system.

For the beaten path, the Passport has seven selectable drive and terrain modes, and comes equipped with the TrailWatch camera system to help drivers navigate obstacles.
