2025 Toyota C-HR+ EV is the bZ4X's sleeker sibling
The C-HR+ is the kid sibling of the Toyota bZ4X EV

Toyota may have been initially slow to the EV game but this year the automaker is coming out swinging. Aside from Lexus revealing an upgraded RZ, Toyota itself unveiled the 2025 C-HR+.
While it shares the name of a smaller crossover from Toyota's lineup, the CH-R+ greatly differs as it's a dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) that adopts the brand's e-TNGA platform. The result is an EV that combines sleek styling, a spacious interior, a specially-tuned suspension that delivers improved ride quality, and long-range driving capability.

The CH-R+ measures 4520mm long, 1870mm wide, 1595mm tall, and has a 2750mm wheelbase. This makes Toyota's new EV a compact crossover that slots below the slightly bigger bZ4X. It has a pair of eye-catching LED daytime running lights and a futuristic-looking front fascia.
Meanwhile, its side profile is highlighted by a sloping roofline and muscular curves on the doors and quarter panels. Last but not least, the C-HR+ rolls on massive alloy wheels and gets stylish LED taillights that appear to resemble the ones on the Lexus RZ.

Hop inside and the interior of the CH-R+ looks similar to that of the bZ4X with its free-standing digital instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment system. It also has a massive touchscreen infotainment system complete with onboard navigation, LED ambient lighting, and a center console with two wireless charging pads.
Other key features present include leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a memory seat function for the driver, automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.

The entry-level variant of the C-HR+ comes with a single electric motor that drives the front wheels and is powered by a 57.7 kWh battery pack. It makes 123 kW (or 167 PS), can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and travel up to 455 km on a single charge.
Next is the mid-range variant which comes with a more powerful electric motor and a bigger battery pack rated at 77 kWh. This one produces 165 kW or 224 PS, can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, and achieves a range of up to 600 km on one full charge.

Last but not least is the top-of-the-line AWD version which gets a pair of electric motors that make a combined 252 kW or 342 PS. From a standstill, Toyota says the C-HR+ can hit 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. This one also gets a 77 kWh battery which translates to a range of up to 525 km.
For now, Toyota says the CH-R+ is scheduled to be launched in Europe in the second half of 2025. Should it make its way here to the Philippines, perhaps the C-HR+ could arrive sometime next year.
