2025 Omoda C5 facelift revealed, PH next to get it?

After several teasers and previews, Omoda-Jaecoo officially launched its vehicles in the Philippines. One of the models the brand previewed the earliest before is the Omoda C5, a subcompact turbocharged crossover that's set to take on the likes of the GAC GS3 Emzoom, Geely Coolray, Changan CS35, Chery Tiggo 5X Pro, and the Changan CS35 Plus.

The Omoda C5 starts at PHP 998,000 and tops out at PHP 1.279 million. It features sleek styling, a feature-packed interior, and a 1.5L turbocharged engine that makes 156 PS with 230 Nm of torque and is paired to a CVT.

It took some time but at least the C5 is now available in the country. In other markets, however, the Omoda C5 has been refreshed for the 2025 model year. Starting with the exterior changes, the 2025 C5 now closely resembles the electric E5 with its restyled front fascia. It gets sharper LED daytime running lights, a black bar that shows the Omoda name, and a reshaped bumper that features an X-shape design with a unique grille.

Also new are the 18-inch black alloy wheels and the lack of red highlights on the bumpers, side mirrors, rocker panels, and spoiler. For 2025, they are now finished in black which translates to a more uniform finish. Carried over from the pre-facelifted C5 are the LED taillights, tailgate spoiler, and the stylish rear bumper.

Hop inside and Omoda decided to keep the C5's cabin the way it is. From the digital instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment display to the touch-sensitive control panel for the HVAC system as well as the intricate center console with wireless charging pads, the interior largely remains the same as before.

Under the hood, the 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder has been carried over and continues to produce 156 PS and 230 Nm of pull. As before, a CVT drives the front wheels of the Omoda C5. In other markets, however, the C5 is powered by a slightly bigger 1.6L turbocharged inline-four that makes 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque.

With the Omoda C5 facelift now available in other countries, perhaps it might not be long before the updated crossover also makes its way here in the Philippines.
