2025 Honda Civic facelift lands in SE Asia, PH coming soon?

We've already seen the US market get the refreshed Honda Civic earlier this year. Despite sporting only several exterior updates, Honda made sure they were all in the right places. These include a restyled front bumper, a larger front grille with a honeycomb-style lower intake, side air intakes that resemble the ones on the Civic Type R, smoked LED taillights, and new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Now that we're more than halfway through the year, the refreshed 2025 Honda Civic has officially made its way to Southeast Asia. Revealed recently over in Thailand, The Land of Smiles is the first market in ASEAN to get the updated Civic.

Just like the USDM Civic, the Thai-spec sedan gets similar exterior updates. But unlike the ones offered across the Pacific which is only available with a hybrid inline-four (1.5L VTEC for the US only available via the Civic Si), the 2025 Civic continues to be available with an internal combustion engine (ICE). That's right, the refreshed Civic for Southeast Asia will continue to be offered with ICE and e:HEV variants.

Starting with the 1.5L VTEC Turbo, the carried-over engine continues to make 178 PS with 240 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT driving the front wheels. Meanwhile, those who prefer hybrid power can get the 2.0L e:HEV which delivers a combined system output of 184 PS and 315 Nm of pull. Power is then sent to a dedicated hybrid transmission.

When it comes to driving modes, the VTEC Turbo gets Econ and Normal while the e:HEV variants get Normal, Econ, Sport, and Individual which is a new one. From its namesake, Individual allows users to set their particular preferences individually. These include Powertrain (Normal, Econ, Sport), Steering (Normal or Sport), Engine (Normal or Sport), and Gauge (Normal or Sport).

Other new features available in the 2025 Civic include a wireless charging pad, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, built-in Google apps/services, USB-C charging ports, Honda Connect, and a wide array of Honda Sensing safety features.

With the facelifted Civic now in Thailand, it might not be long before Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) launches the updated sedan. Heck, we also won't be surprised if they launch the updated Civic with the e:HEV powertrain since the automaker received regulatory approval for an upcoming passenger vehicle powered by a 1993cc engine which translates to a 2.0L unit.

Perhaps the only question now is will HCPI launch it this year or sometime in 2025?
