2025 Honda Amaze is proof tiny sedans need not be boring

After being leaked before its scheduled launch yesterday, Honda has officially taken the covers off the all-new Amaze sedan. Featuring a brand-new exterior and interior design along with plenty of standard features, the budget sedan is Honda's idea of having an affordable four-door that's stylish and packed to the brim.

Like yesterday's leak, the next-generation Amaze looks like a pint-sized version of the all-new City with some subtle inspiration from the HR-V. High-grade models come standard with sleek LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, new foglight bezels, and a stylish trapezoidal grille with a chrome accent.

Around the back, the 2025 Amaze gets a City-inspired roofline along with similar-looking LED taillights. Even the trunk lid appears to have been inspired by the City and comes with an integrated ducktail spoiler. The rest of the vehicle gets 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 185/60 tires (lesser variants get 14-inch steelies with 175/65 tires), chrome door handles, and reflectors on the rear bumper.

Size-wise, the all-new Amaze measures 3995mm long, 1733mm wide, 1500mm tall, and has a 2470mm wheelbase. This makes the Honda Amaze a direct competitor to the likes of the all-new Suzuki Dzire which also recently made its debut. Despite measuring less than 4 meters in length, the Amaze has a trunk space that's rated to accommodate 416 liters worth of luggage which is 34 more liters than the Dzire's.

Hop inside and the cabin gets an upgrade in terms of aesthetics and features. Featuring Honda's “Simplicity and Something” design, the dashboard features a minimalist yet ergonomic look that's reminiscent of the Elevate crossover SUV. It gets a two-tone black and beige interior finish that's complemented by a three-spoke steering wheel, a dual gauge cluster with a center multi-info display, and a digital aircon system.

Infotainment is provided by a free-standing 8-inch touchscreen system. For the Indian market, the media system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a 4-speaker sound system, and USB ports.

Under the hood, the all-new Amaze gets the same 1.2L four-cylinder i-VTEC engine shared with the Brio hatchback. It makes 90 PS at 6000 rpm with 110 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm and is connected to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT that drives the front wheels.

When it comes to safety, the Amaze comes out swinging as the budget sedan comes standard with Honda Sensing. That's right, the sub-4-meter sedan is available with intelligent driver aids such as collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lead car departure notification, road departure mitigation, and auto high-beam.

Other safety features available include a 6 airbag system, LaneWatch camera, multi-angle reverse camera, rear parking sensors, vehicle stability assist, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, and traction control.

With the 2025 Honda Amaze now available in India, could we see it make a return in the Philippine market? After all, Suzuki Philippines continues to sell the Dzire and will likely offer the next-generation model in the near future.
